Praia prepares to rock with the historic 10th edition of the Grito Rock International Festival

“The alternative music event returns to the capital on March 28, 2026, promising to celebrate a decade of cultural exchange and artistic resistance.”

In March, the city of Praia will host another edition of Grito Rock, one of the most important stages for independent music in Cape Verde. Organized by the production company ARTiKUL CJ, this year the festival reaches the symbolic milestone of its tenth edition, consolidating itself as a vital space for rock, metal, and alternative sounds in the archipelago, bringing together local and international artists.

On March 28, 2026, the Cape Verdean capital will once again become the epicenter of alternative music in the Atlantic. The 10th edition of the Grito Rock Praia International Festival promises to be a milestone in the country's cultural calendar, celebrating a decade of persistence and creativity outside the usual commercial circuit.

The event, which has been gaining momentum and loyal followers year after year, is much more than just a concert. It is a platform for exchange that puts Cape Verde on the global map of independent festivals, promoting dialogue between national bands and guests from around the world.

For this "round" edition, the organization, led by ARTiKUL CJ, is preparing a lineup that honors the festival's history, maintaining the spirit of collaboration and contagious energy that characterizes it. Expectations are high, not only for the music, but also for the atmosphere of sharing that is generated, where the audience is invited to discover new sounds and celebrate cultural diversity.

We recall that...

Grito Rock Praia began in 2013, inspired by a collaborative network that originated in South America, and has since established itself as one of the most resilient events on the Cape Verdean music scene. Throughout previous editions (such as the 9th edition in 2025, which paid tribute to singer Teresinha Araújo and embraced environmental causes with the slogan "Plant a Tree"), the festival has focused not only on music but also on social and environmental responsibility, using the stage as a vehicle for civic awareness.
